WINEMAKER NOTES

Fruity, smooth, and made to be enjoyed immediately, our Merlot is first fermented in stainless steel tanks at cool temperatures to preserve its vivid cherry flavors and aromas. Afterward, the wine is aged briefly in American oak tanks to enhance its supple, silky-smooth texture.

TASTING NOTES:

Sutter Home Merlot is lush and velvety, brimming with generous fresh fruit flavors. Ripe black cherry aromas with hints of tobacco and herbal spice lead to smoky black cherry and spiced plum flavors on the palate, and a plush, lingering finish. Medium-bodied with soft tannins and a round mouthfeel, our Merlot pairs well with many foods, but makes an exceptional partner for herb-roasted meats and chicken, plank-grilled salmon, hearty spaghetti Bolognese, and earthy mushroom risotto.
