“It takes years to understand the potential of the land and all of its pieces. Having farmed Sleeping Lady Vineyard for twenty years prior to replanting in 2003 informed all of our decisions. With vineyard management, you have to make a lot of really good long-term decisions, and that’s tough sometimes. The easier route is to make good short-term decisions, and that doesn’t pan out well in the long run if you’re trying to do what we’re doing. It’s a harder route but we believe it pays off in the end. It makes a better wine, makes more of it, makes it for longer.”

Tasting Notes:
RP95
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard slips sensuously out of the glass with compelling scents of crushed black cherries, redcurrant jelly, fresh blackcurrants and black raspberries plus nuances of bouquet garni, red roses, underbrush and pencil lead. The medium to full-bodied palate provides fantastic tension with taut, tightly knit black and red fruit layers and a firm, grainy texture, finishing on a lingering ferrous note.
