“This right here—Summit Blocks—is still just a beautiful spot. It’s the highest point in the Oakville AVA and one of my favorite places on the ranch because you don’t see the Napa Valley; you see the mountains of Napa. At Oakville Ranch, we limit the production to about 2½ tons to the acre because you have to have that intensity of fruit. At the same time, through organic farming and our approach to our soil health, we create the soft tannins. And they’re huge wines.”
