“The signature of the Lady is depth, aromatics, perfume. The gravel streak that undulates through the property provides an edge, a soil variation, contributing a bit of tension, complexity, and structure, but the tannins are never harsh; they are polished and refined.”
—Julien Fayard, winemaking consultant
Tasting Notes:
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Sleeping Lady Vineyard, from the site south of Yountville, is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon out of the Jackson clone 6 of Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine offers up notes of Christmas fruitcake, cedar wood, a Pauillac-like blackcurrant and coffee-scented nose, soft tannins and a lush, heady mouthfeel. It is full-bodied, round, juicy and ideal for drinking over the next 15-20 years.
